October

Scott is modeling a brown tux for us and drinking Dr. Pepper. Acutally he was an usher for a friend's wedding at our church. Mr. Paul Jarvis, who helped perform the ceremony, Daniel Lloyd and Scott are toasting their Dr. Peppers. But we did get Scott to take off the coat and pose for us! Of course, we needed to take a shot of all the kids dressed-up because that so rarely happens. We have Hannah, Emily, Scott, Jesse, and Sarah.

September

Scott and Jesse roofed our shed and did a great job for not ever having done
such work. It was a good experience and they learned a lot. PopPop would
have enjoyed watching them!  Jesse got a little crazy
with his hammer!(2nd picture)
Emily celebrated her 22nd birthday! Rainboots for all those wet days, that
we're not having right now.
Jesse is playing fall ball with his travel team, The Birmingham Rangers. He catches, plays
short-stop, first base and third base --- does it all! He's also hitting well.
His team won a trophy after being undefeated in a tournament.
(four games all on one day) Jesse is on the far right in the team picture.
And lastly, our lovely Sarah just before she got a few inches of hair cut off.

August trip

In late July we headed north to Kentucky and visited the famous Churchhill Downs.
Then we drove on to Ohio and took in a Cincinnati Reds game against the Atlanta Braves.
Unfortunately the Braves lost. We did take in another game in Columbus that included two of
our UAB players. Then we ended  in Van Wert. Brian & PopPop enjoyed the beautiful weather
and such green garden. Next is Beth playing with her grandsons, Keston & Caleb. Next Gram
held a bread-making class for her Alabama grandchildren. They loved it and the result was delicious
golden loaves of bread. Julie & baby Eli. The playdough faces are Hannah, Emily, Caleb and Sarah.
The girls love their cousins: Hannah & Keston, Sarah & Caleb, Emily & Eli.
We ended our trip by celebrating PopPop's 87th birthday a little early with an ice cream cake!
We had a great time.

July

We kicked off July with the twins' 15th birthday. Hard to believe. They are entering their sophomore year and are the last two to homeschool.
Scott, Hannah, Sarah and Jesse went with the Youth to Gatlinburg, TN for nearly a week. The 1980's was their theme, thus the heavy make-up and flashy clothes The first one is Sarah and her girlfriend, Katrina. The next shot is Hannah and her friend, Sarah Beth. Did we really dress like that?
The boys goofing off are kids from church: David, Zach, Jesse and Daniel. It's a rarity to see them dressed up. (We are at a wedding.)
Recently Brian and Brenda  flew to Ft. Myers, Fl to watch The Perfect Game, which is tons and tons of boys playing baseball all over the city. We saw recruits and a couple of our own freshmen coming this fall to UAB. Some of the games were played at the Boston Red Sox spring training field. Their hitting facility and stadium were impressive. The last photos are Ivan, our Puerto Rician, who we just love. We had the privilege of meeting his parents and PaPa, the one talking to Brian.

The side by side shots are close friends.
Brian & Brenda celebrated their 29th anniversay in Leesburg,Al
at The Secret Bed & Breakfast. We had three very relaxing days
and ate at this beautiful victorian house in Mentone, Al. Our

Next we have the UAB seniors and the sign for Brian's 800th careet win.
Brandon Hynick (red jersey) was a former BSC player, now with the White Sox on a double AA team here in Birmingham. We had a great time seeing him pitch. The last picture is Brian and also a former BSC player, Graham Burgess. Fun seeing our old players!
