Our Thanksgiving Traditions

Emily slicing pumkin pie

Hannah is excited about the mashed potatoes!
Y'all ready to eat?

Brian and Sarah are VERY hungry!
Jesse and Scott are ready to fill their plates also.

One of our favorite family traditions is to visit this tree farm
and cut down our Christmas tree.

Fun things to do at the tree farm: feed reindeer, ride a wagon, pretend to take a sleigh ride without snow or be a reindeer (Jesse), snowman (Em), Christmas tree (Hannah)being chopped down by Scott, or an angel (Sarah).

Jesse sawed the "chosen " tree.
Brian, Scott and Jess haul it in.

What a mess! Where will all these decorations go?

Our New Home

Well it has been a while since we've last written, so there is quite a bit to recount. This summer has been a busy one for this family, as we moved on June 30. During the month of July, we continued to 'get settled' as we unpacked boxes, hung pictures, painted the garage, and a picket fence. June 30, 2008-Here is the Purple People mover's truck in our new driveway! It was a beautiful sunny day---perfect for moving! In the left of the picture, Scott and Jesse are standing. The man by the truck is one of the movers who helped us.

The Shoop home on Paige Drive! We enjoy using the white rockers on the front porch for quiet mornings, rainy afternoons, or clear nights.

The photo on the top right is our living room. Already painted a lovely sage green, all we did was add carpet and move in our furnature. Although we haven't used the fireplace yet, we're looking forward to some autum nights with smores!

Brenda's kitchen. To the left of this room (where you see the white curtain) we have our eating area. Both windows overlook our screend-in porch

To the top right is our school room. We painted this a chocolate color (over pink). Three weeks of school have already been completed in this room! Hannah (jr.) Sarah and Jesse (8th grade).

The master bedroom, which is actually the same color as the living room. We carpeted this room as well.

Below is Hannah's room, with three green walls, and one wall a chocolate/latte' color. This room took a lot of work, requiring the removing of wallpaper (hours of scraping!), but the finished product was worth it.

Below is the boys' room. Though a change, Scott and Jesse have enjoyed sharing a room. Scott is entertained with Jesse's electric guitar-playing, and Jesse enjoys his older brother's music. In their defense, their room is usually cleaner than when this picture was snapped.

Sarah's room is to the bottem right. She inherited the girls' bunkbed, which comes in handy for sleep-overs. She picked out matching quilts for the beds which match the soft room.

This is Emily's room (which now has pictures on the walls). Upon the move, she recieved the guest bed, for which she chose a rich chocolate comforter. Opposite the bed is an old couch which is used when her friends come to visit.

May-June

Hello!!!! We apologize for not updating sooner, but we have been VERY busy! In May, the baseball season ended (comming in 3rd place in the Conference Tournament). Scott graduated!
He, Hannah, and Sarah went with the youth to Lakeland, FL to the healing revival and loved it.
This month we've been packing, going to Jesse's All-Star games, packing, working at a kids' camp at our church and packing! Here's a few pictures to show you what we've been up to.
The twins helping with packing.
Boxes are everywhere!
Brian and Brenda celebrated their 27th wedding Anniversary.
Jesse playing All-Stars.

A whole crowd of church friends showed up to support Jesse at his All-Star game.

After that . . . ?

Initially, Scott and Jesse's room;
in a few years maybe a family room.

Hannah's room -the wallpaper
will come down and be painted.

Sarah's room will be
repainted a peachy color.
